Volumes 1-5 contain the Pre-War stories
Volumes 6-11 contain the War stories
Volumes 12-24 contain the Post-War stories
Volume 25 contains The Spirit daily strips
Volume 26 contains The spirit work Eisner did after the original spirit run!(kitchen sink reprint covers, harvey reprint stories etc.)
Volume 27 was published by Dark Horse Comics to accompany these. It contained The Spirit: The New Adventures issues , originally published by Kitchen Sink Press during the 90's
